Meet the Editors

Lachlan Coman

Hi, my name’s Lachlan and this year I’m taking a break from medicine to do a Master of Public Health.

What do I enjoy about being Editor of the Auricle?

Being Editor of The Auricle is a wonderful opportunity to choose an editorial direction that highlights my peers’ creativity, and publish a magazine which I am proud of.

What is my favourite thing to do in spare time?

I love travelling down to Wilson’s Prom for a walk or a swim, even if it’s only for a day at a time!

Jordi Shahab

My name’s Jordi. I am currently doing my BMedSc (Hons) after finishing 4th year last year. My research this year is an emergency medicine/paramedicine topic looking at the relationship between pre-hospital blood sugar levels and trauma.

What do I enjoy about being Editor of the Auricle?

I enjoy reading and editing the writing and stories from other members of my cohort. It’s inspiring to know that there is such a diversity of talent and interests amongst medical students, with passionate people who will no doubt excel in their future fields. I think it’s important to have a life outside of medicine, but also recognise that there are means to combine your extracurricular interests with your career.

What is my favourite thing to do in spare time?

My favourite thing to do in my spare time is hang out with friends and those who are important to me. I love to stay active and travel as much as I can, especially for snowboarding. If not studying and travelling I enjoy learning to play music, watching TV shows and learning languages.
